Through the survey on interpersonal skills of rural left-behind children in Sanxing Primary School of Qian County, this paper discovers that some school-age left-behind children encounter obstacles in the process of interpersonal communication, mainly reflected in the perception deviation in behaviors of themselves and others and the lack of normal interpersonal skills.For the rural school-age left-behind children who are vulnerable, interpersonal communication seems to be particularly important. The lack of interpersonal skills is a common problem among rural school-age left-behind children, which may seriously influence the formation of their health psychology and perfect personality. They have certain communication fears because they fail to get proper care for living in an incomplete family due to various reasons. Therefore, it is of great significance to train interpersonal skills for rural left-behind children, and everyone shall shoulder his or her responsibility to care and love rural school-age left-behind children. They need not only the love and help of their families, schools or communities, but also the professional help of social workers.Given the issues mentioned above, the author conducts research and exploration in the practical method of group work, and confirms the effectiveness of group work in the training of interpersonal skills for rural school-age left-behind children by evaluating and summarizing the experiences accumulated from group work. Group activities are targeted and characterized by high efficiency and full participation. By developing the group themes of interpersonal skills, the author tries to help school-age children left behind in rural areas to establish confidence, get a sense of belonging, release negative emotions reasonably, and form the correct perception, and to provide effective help for their further learning of social etiquette skills, thus providing some references and suggestions for the future support and protection of school-age children left behind in rural areas.
