Since 2013, China’s higher education enterprise has developed rapidly along with the enrollment expansion of colleges and universities. However, with the increased number of postgraduates, their employment difficulty especially for the M. Ed. has become more seriously now, and the main reasons that lead to this grim situation in most part arise from the deviation in the views of employment in addition to the structural unemployment.Based the rational choice theory, this study analyzed the Status quo of employment view from four perspectives of motivation, cognitive, intention as well as attitude. After delivering questionnaire for 216 full-time master of pedagogy from four universities in Xi’an and using SPSS to analyze the data. This thesis separately summarized the positive factors and adverse factors in perception of employment. Besides, in order to have a further understanding of perception of employment for master of pedagogy in Xi’an, the researcher also interviewed fresh master of pedagogy graduates, previous master of pedagogy graduates and master tutor in Education major.After the investigation, the results found that there are four positive aspects. Firstly, the motivation of career chosen was strong and the behavior of career selection was carefully. Secondly, the cognitive of career chosen and object were clearly. Thirdly, the intention of career chosen was rational. Fourthly, the mentality of career chosen was positive and the approach of career chosen was diversified. However, there were also three negative aspects. Firstly, utilitarianism was obvious. Secondly, the employment confidence was not enough. Thirdly, awareness of position was not clear.Therefore, this study will give some advices in aspects of postgraduates, universities and companies.
