Model construction teaching is a process of constructing the model, training students in the teaching process of observation, reasoning, analysis, interpretation and other kinds of thinking ability, the process of making students go deep into scientific inquiry, the aim is to improve the biological science literacy of middle school students, the implementation of the new curriculum concept, improve the actual effect of teaching, is a kind of teaching mode which is worth promoting.In this research, we define the related concepts of the teaching of biology model construction literature review, study on the present situation of domestic and overseas. Using questionnaire survey, investigation of Urumqi Eighty school modeling the cognitive situation of junior modeling, modeling ability, consciousness and so on, in order to understand the status quo of the school teaching model construction; Classification statistical modeling in high school biology(compulsory 2) activities and the number of all kinds of models, aims to understand the model type and model resources in the teaching material; Using case analysis, collect and make generalizations, teachers’ teaching cases in order to understand the teachers use what kind of teaching method in teaching, application model to construct the teaching method to improve the teaching case the chromosome variation, highlight the advantages of modeling teaching in the teaching.Through of this study is to get the following conclusion: 1, the model construction of the teaching of biology in high school to carry out the situation is not optimistic; 2, less modeling activities in the textbooks and single type, model resources are rich; 3, the model construct the teaching method is not universal. Based on the conclusion put forward the following Suggestions: 1, modeling method of teaching, teachers should learn more; 2, the use of model resources, to carry out the modeling activities; More than 3, the school held a relevant model to construct the academic seminar.
