Commercialization, globalization and technological changes become the main direction ofdevelopment of China’s civil aviation industry in the21st century. Meanwhile, these three elementswill intense the competition of the international airlines and airports. Thus, the efficiency of airportbecomes more important than ever. Evaluation of the efficiency of airport operations is important tothe achievement of sustained and healthy development of China’s civil aviation industry and theevaluation enhances the international competitiveness of China’s major hub airports, the evaluation ofairport efficiency promotes the airport theoretical research and accurately reflect the current situationof China’s hub airport operational efficiency. This thesis uses the model of data envelopment analysis (DEA) to study the efficiency of airport. It first introduces the meaning and classification of efficiency and gives two basic models of dataenvelopment analysis: CCR model and BCC model. Then the assay describes how to evaluate theefficiency of the airport by method of the data envelopment analysis. The third and the forth chapters is mainly about empirical analysis. The third chapter studies theefficiency of individual airport. In this part, in addition to the assets、 labor、 income and otherindicators, the input indicators imports noise to measure the impact of airport noise on itssurrounding area. The third chapter studies the efficiency of Capital Airport from2003to2012andmakes out the results of technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of CapitalAirport. Then the third part derives the relaxation and remaining variables, whereby the outputshortfall drawn into each of the remaining input variables and output variables each. The fourthchapter focuses on the efficiency of JingJinJi region multi-airport system. This part analyzes therelative efficiency of the airports in JingJinJi region multi-airport system and the coordinate efficiencyof this system.
