Since the21st century, with the evolution of globalization, the market competitionbecomes increasingly fierce. Hence, manufacturing enterprises must improve theirmanufacturing performance, in order to obtain sustainable competitive advantage. However, the manufacturing process is not only restricted to the internal enterpriseactivities, but also involves the supply of upstream suppliers and demand from thedownstream customers in the supply chain. Therefore, the study on the impact of supplychain integration on manufacturing performance is of great significance formanufacturing enterprises to improve manufacturing performance and enhancecompetitiveness.Based on the resource-based theory, transaction cost theory and organizationallearning theory, this study constructs the theoretical model of supply chain integrationimpacting manufacturing performance. The supply chain integration is divided intointegration of suppliers, customers and internal integration these three variables, andmanufacturing performance are divided into quality, flexibility, innovation, delivery andcost these five variables. The reliability and validity analysis is carried on the417questionnaires for manufacturing enterprises, and then the research hypotheses areverified through correlation analysis and hierarchical regression method. According tothe results, some strategy of supply chain integration for manufacturing enterprises areput forward. This study verifies the positive impact of supply chain integration onmanufacturing performance. In detail, the supplier integration and internal integrationhave significant positive impact on quality, flexibility, innovation, delivery and costthese five dimensions of manufacturing performance; and customer integration hassignificant positive impact on quality, flexibility, delivery and cost. In addition, the mediation role of internal integration in the impact of supplier integration andcustomer integration is verified. According to the empirical analysis results, themechanism of supply chain integration’s impact on manufacturing performance isanalyzed, and strategies about how to improve manufacturing performance formanufacturing enterprises are put forward.
