Research On The Effect Of Supply Chain Integration On The Financial Performance Of Equipment Manufacturing Industry Under The Condition Of Uncertain Environment

The equipment manufacturing industry as a leading and pillar industry is the foundation of the economic and social development.The development level of the equipment manufacturing industry has become an important symbol to measure a country's development level of manufacturing industry,the degree of industrialization and national competitiveness.At present,the trend of economic globalization has become more and more intensified,the trend of consumption upgrading has become increasingly apparent,information technology and network technology has developed rapidly,and the market environment faced by enterprises has been greatly changed.Due to the increasingly complex external environment,the operational difficulties and risks of China's equipment manufacturing industry increases,while the economic benefits and decline and its development speed slows down.Under this circumstance,the supply chain integration as an advanced supply chain management ideas and technical method has received extensive attention from the academic community.It has been applied to a number of industry areas and has achieved good results.How to use the new idea and the new method of the supply chain integration to improve the equipment manufacturing enterprise performance is a new proposition,which has important theoretical implications and practical significance for the development of China's equipment manufacturing industry.Based on the review of related studies about the concepts,measurement and the classification of the supply chain integration,this study puts forward hypotheses about the influence of the supplier integration,customer integration and chain integration on firms' financial performance.It also explores the moderating role of uncertain external environment.Based on the relevant data of 259 equipment manufacturing listed companies during 2010-2014,the hypotheses are tested by multiple linear regression.The results show that supplier integration and supply chain integration are significantly related to firms' financial performance,while the effect of customer intefration is not significant.The results imply that supplier integration and supply chain integration help improve firms' financial performance.This study also finds that environmental uncertainty can weaken the positive effect of supply chain integration on firms' financial performance.As a result,this study puts forward some suggestions to promote the healthy development of the equipment manufacturing industry in our country.
