Study On Employment Structure Effect Of Technological Progress In Shaanxi Province

With the technology developing rapidly, the technological progress becomes decisivefactor which promoting the development of regional economy. At the same time, withother social factors in production, technological progress produced certain effect at theemployment structure. Under this background, in this paper, it research object is therelationship of technological progress and employment structure. It is to discuss the effectof technology progress to employment structure in Shaanxi province.Firstly, this paper studys on the relation of technological progress and the structure ofemployment. Firstly, it reviews and summarizes the existing researches and theorys. Onthis basis, from the view of enterprise and industry, this paper put forward the mechanismof impact about technological progress on employment structure.Based on the theoreticalanalysis, the paper analyzes the status of technological progress and the employmentstructure in Shaanxi province. In the empirical analysis, it measures technological progressindex of Shaanxi province through the Malmquist method. On this basis, the thesisanalyzes the effect of technological progress to employment structure from two angles,according to the principle forenamed. At the three industry level, the paper buildmultivariate recursive model, then use the method of stepwise regression to selectsignificant variables. Their long-term and stable relationship be proved throughcointegration test. At the national economic sectors level, the paper set up a regressionmodel, then make the cointegration test. The conclusions are as follows:(1) In recent years, Shaanxi province’s technological input and output have beenincreasing constantly and the employment structure has been optimized. However, thetechnological investment decreased year by year, the strength needs to be improved. In theemployment structure, the employment proportion of primary industry is too high, theproportion of the secondary and tertiary industry is too low.(2) The TC indexs of the three industries in Shaanxi Province are calculated byMalmquist method. The results showed that, generally, the index growth rapidly, especiallyin recent years. In three industries, the index growth of secondary industries is largest. The index growth of tertiary industry fluctuates significantly, and relatively small.(3) The technological progress in Shaanxi Province has an important influence onchanges in the employment structure.In three industries, the technological progress has a negative effect on employment inthe primary industry, and has a significant role in promoting the secondary industry, andproduce a slight positive effect on employment in the tertiary industry.In the national economic sectors, the technological progress of Shaanxi Provincereduce the employment of the A sector, and promote the six sector’s employment of C, E F,G, H, P.(4) The technological progress of Shaanxi Province, is conducive to the optimizationof the structure of employment, but there are also some problems. The role oftechnological progress on the employment is not obvious in the tertiary industry, however,it has a larger role in promoting employment of four sectors. This phenomenon indicatesthat employment of these four sectors due to the rapid development of technology, however,the development of the technological progress of the overall tertiary industry is not ideal,the employment pull effect is not obvious.Finally, the thesis puts forward some recommendations, such as vigorously promotingthe development of the province’s technology to improve the overall level of technologicalprogress; relying on technological progress to speed up the adjustment of industrialstructure, optimizing the structure of employment; building the integration of urban andrural employment system to achieve the transfer of surplus agricultural labor; playing aleading industry technology diffusion, driven by the relevant industry employment.
