The Employment Effects Of The Technological Progress In The Western Region

With the deepening of reform and opening up, technological advances continue to provide impetus to the country’s economic development. From the rise of the east coast to the western development, various regions of the country are showing varying degrees of development trends.In the21st century, technological innovation has become the most important source of economic growth. General, economic growth and innovation should make society more creative and driving the enthusiasm of the labor. However, with the continuous development of market economy, abundant labor resources cannot be fully absorbed and utilized, so that the field of employment in our country exist the obvious contradiction between the total and structure.In the case of rapid economic development and the serious situation of the employment, whether technological advances can bring employment has become an important issue. How do we effectively play area economic advantages and choose the appropriate way of technological progress, then promote employment better is a question to think about, but also the starting point of this article. This paper mainly studies the effect of technological progress on employment in the Western region.Domestic and foreign scholars have different views and prospects on the impact of technological progress to employment. Because of the particularity of the economic development level in China’s western region and factor endowments, it has the different impact mechanisms. How to play the regional economic advantages effectively and select the appropriate way of technological progress to promote employment better are the starting point of this paper.The main content of the article includes theoretical description and analysis, situation analysis, empirical analysis and countermeasure analysis, this article explore the related mechanisms through the analysis of actual data in western region and dig out some new factors, then use appropriate methods to improve the models and theories.The main innovation of this paper is to be analyzed separately for the western region, then use provincial panel data in the western region to model and analysis, and in the eastern part of the model results for comparison. Finally, the article uses two examples to provide appropriate measures for the technological progress and employment in the western region. Because the influential mechanism of the technological progress on employment is not perfect, there will be some problems in the process of discussion, including the latest data collected after2011and the description of the impact about technological progress on employment structure.Based on the above considerations, this article introduces the theory of technological progress and employment firstly, then takes the theoretical analysis to the path of impact in western region. After that, the article takes the descriptive analysis of changing trends to the technological progress and employment in the western region with the comparison in the eastern region, In the fourth chapter, the article uses the provincial panel date of ten provinces in western region to build the model and take the empirical test, then compares the result of developed areas in order to verify the conclusions made by chapter two. Finally, the article put forward the policy measures and research prospects through examples which adapt to the technological progress and employment in the western region.
