A Study On The Smart City Construction And The Evaluation System

In the wake of the new generation information technology, the westernworld proposed the concept of smart city and started to build, as a strategicmove to tackle the financial crisis. To put China in a leading position, localgovernment proposed their own plan of smart city building. But in the caseof practice earlier than theory, ignoring risks and imitating aimlessly maylead to repeated construction, which is on the contrary of smart city.What is smart city? What is the mechanism of smart city? How do weevaluate the level of smart city? These questions are very important to oursmart city building.This paper defined the implication of smart city, and introducedanalysis several cases of smart city in the whole word, and compared theexisting evaluation system of smart city in China. Then on the base oftraditional mechanism of urban construction, the paper studied themechanism of smart city, and built the evaluation system of smart city. Atlast the paper evaluated the efficiency of smart city in Shanghai, andproposed suggestions. The paper indicated, empirical findings conformed tothe theory and the fact, the evaluation system is scientific and operable. Themechanism and the evaluation system is useful to the practice of smart cityin China.
