Evaluation On Regional Innovation Capability Based On Entropy Method In China

The economic globalization and regional economic integration continues to accelerate,and the state leads to support regional innovation strategically. As a result, regionalinnovation capability has become the core of regional competition.On the basis of reviewing the existing research at home and abroad, this paperestablishes the purposes, objects, subjects, and methods of regional innovation capabilityevaluation. Furthermore, from the areas of features and applications, this paperqualitatively discusses the feasibility of entropy methods, it proves that entropy methodscan be used in the field of regional innovation capability evaluation. Combining with thecharacteristics and principles of entropy methods, this paper choose the best dimensionlessmethod for entropy method.On the basis of the uniqueness of entropy method and regional innovation, this paperestablishes the principles, ideas and content of building regional innovation capabilityevaluation index. And then, this paper establishes the evaluation index system from fourdimensions, which are regional innovation input capability, regional innovation outputcapability, regional innovation configuration capability and regional innovation supportcapability. It researches the regional innovation capability of31areas in China, and then itevaluates the31areas by entropy method and factor analysis method. Finally it obtains theresult of regional innovation capability evaluation in China, the results includes the weightof each index, the region’s overall score and ranking. Also, through the comparison ofresults of two evaluation methods, this paper demonstrates the reasonableness that entropymethod can be applied in evaluating regional innovation capability.By the results of the obtained data, this paper studies the weights obtained by entropymethod, the comprehensive comparison of each region, and the comparison of eastern,central and western areas. Finally it analyses the situation of regional innovation capabilityin China, and puts forward related plans and suggestions. The innovation points of this paper is to scientifically introduction entropy method tothe field of regional innovation capability evaluation, in the meantime, it choose the bestdimensionless method for entropy method. On this basis, it evaluates the regionalinnovation capability in31regions of China in the general.
