| The rapid development of the Internet has brought opportunities and challenges to the online shop entrepreneurship. Running an online shop is already a relatively common way to start a new venture, but the survival status of this business is vastly different. The key observation from a large number of theoretical studies and experience is that as the core of new venture, entrepreneur’s competency is highly related to the success of the business, while entrepreneurial learning is proved to be a vital way to improve it. Through empirical research, this paper builds an online shop entrepreneur’s entrepreneurial learning model, and examines the relationship between entrepreneurs with different background and their way of venture learning. So the study could better serve to the entrepreneurs and enhance entrepreneurial performance. It also contributes to the various amounts of organizations and schools providing online shop courses and training by helping them to better plan course content and teaching methods, thereby reduces the waste of social resources.Firstly, by drawing upon the concept of entrepreneurial learning and knowledge acquisition, and entrepreneurial education, classic models of new venture creation and entrepreneurial learning approach, a conceptual model is developed to link the entrepreneurial learning, and online shop performance together. The model consists of four constructs of theoritial learning, learning by doing, entrepreneurial competencies and performance.Second, in the empirical study, several semi-structured interviews and Pre survey are conducted with online shop entrepreneurs in order to modify the conceptual model and the questionnaire. The results are analyzed with SPSS17.0.Through empirical analysis, we draw several important conclusions:theoretical study, learning by doing are important ways to improve entrepreneurial competency and entrepreneurial performance; experiential learning is a key element of entrepreneurial learning and it plays significant role in training for entrepreneurial competency and entrepreneurial performance; opportunity recognition capabilities, operational management capabilities both have mediating effect between entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurial performance; the influence of opportunity recognition capabilities, operational performance management capabilities for the survival and growth performance are different. For the survival of the performance, the impact of operational management capacity is greater than the opportunity, and for growth performance, the ability to identify opportunities is much greater. Finally, this paper presents inadequacies and prospects for future research. |
