Comparative Analysis Of The Relationship Between Logistics Industry And Economic Growth Among The Eastern, Central And Western China

With the further deepening economic globalization and the advanced modernscience and technology, the logistics industry becomes more and more important in theprocess of promoting social and economic development. And the logistics industry isregard as the "accelerator" of the national economic growth. The logistics industrymakes a positive impact on the regional economy and GDP growth in our country.However, Comparative analysis of the relationship between the regional logistics andeconomic growth revealed dramatically unbalance in the development level of logisticsindustry among different regions, as well as the influence on local ecology. So,comparative studying of the qualitative and quantitative relationship between regionallogistics and economic growth will have certain theoretical and practical value toformulate regional development strategy and enhance the contribution of the logisticsindustry to the regional economy.The thesis includes six chapters. The first chapter introduced the problems we maymeet, the background and significance of this thesis, brief summary of the domestic andforeign research, and the research methods, objectives, content and framework of thisthesis. The division of China’s eastern, central and western part is also described in thischapter. The second chapter mainly defined the knowledge about logistics, logisticsindustry and economic growth; the interactive relationship between logistics industryand economic growth was clarified in this chapter. The third chapter introduced how toselect the logistics industry and economic growth indicators, how the data obtained andwhat methods would to perform in the next chapter. The fourth chapter is the core partof this thesis, the relationship between logistics industry and economic growth amongthe eastern, central and western China had compared and analyzed with the quantitativeand empirical research methods. The fifth chapter is the comparative analysis of thelogistics industry and economy development current situation among eastern, centraland western China. The sixth chapter analyzed the cause of unbalance relationshipbetween logistics industry and economy growth among the eastern, central and westernChina. In the end of this chapter, some corresponding policies and suggestions werepresent. The seventh chapter makes a conclusion and gave a prospect.Through the comparative study of the relationship between logistics industry andeconomic growth, the logistics supply model, the logistics demand model and totallogistics development model were constructed. According to the model results, following conclusions can be revealed:1) the transportation routes and tools, the totalretail sales of consumer goods, the ton-kilometers and the development amount of thelogistics industry can promote economic growth;2) from the economic driving effect ofthe transportation routes and the total retail sales of consumer goods, the central andwestern China is lower than the national level while maximum in eastern China;3) fromthe economic driving effect of the transportation tools and the ton-kilometers, theeastern China is lower the national level while higher the national level in the centraland western China;4) from the economic driving effect of the development amount ofthe logistics industry, the central China is higher than the national level while minimumin western China, eastern and western China is lower than the national level.
