A Research On The Promotion Effect Of Logistics To Regional Economic Growth

In the three major social-economic activities of production, circulation and consumption, circulation is a necessary link between production and consumption. The existence form of social-logistics for circulation activities to solve the time interval and space intervals between producers and consumers, achieving transfer of ownership of the goods. Since the beginning of21st century, with the improvement of transport conditions, the extensive use of communications、 computer and data processing technology, logistics becoming following the lower material consumption, improve labor productivity to promote economic growth’s "the third profit source".In recent years, China’s logistics industry has developed rapidly and has become the foundation of the national economy and guiding industry. But on the whole vision, the development of logistics industry has some problems, some of which have attracted the attention of domestic scholars. In present, the relevant departments of the state has put the development of modern logistics industry as an important industry and new economic growth point in the new century. Since entering the new century, with China’s industry transfer speed up from east to West and the spring up of central China strategy, Henan province has a good chance to development modern logistics industry.In this paper, the development of logistics industry’s role in promoting regional economic growth as the main line, taking Henan Province as an example to study. The purpose of the study lies in the quantitative analysis of the logistics industry on economic growth in Henan province. In research methods, firstly define the exact meaning of the logistics industry and regional economic growth, then taking1987-2011as study interval, Selection of logistics network,、turnover volume of freight and logistics industry added value variables as described logistics development index, taking GDP as the description of regional economy index, based on the co-integration model, then taking the impulse response analysis and variance decomposition. The results show that:(1) In the short term, the logistics network has a negative effect on economic growth, the main reason is traffic infrastructure investment cannot catch up with the economic growth and the external spillover effect of traffic infrastructure; freight turnover has a positive effect on economic growth, its elastic coefficient is0.70, has a positive role in driving economic growth;(3) The added value of logistics’ role in promoting economic growth is most remarkable, the elastic coefficient reaches1.45, the impulse response function shows that the logistics industry added value to the economic growth of impact is the most significant, and the variance decomposition shows its contribution to economic growth rate reached38%.In the end of the article has put forward any policy support system, which corresponds to the actual situation in Henan province, respectively, construct modern logistics^improve logistics infrastructure^to speed up development of third party logistics and construction of Zhengzhou international logistics center. The research prospect has pointed out two shortcomings, respectively is the index system to measure the development of modem logistics industry should be perfected and the need for further exploration of method which suitable for Henan province’s situation.
