The Study On Township Banks Of Changsha Impact On Economic Development In Xiangxi Tujia And Miao Autonomous Prefecture

Rural banks, established mainly to provide financial service for localfarmers, agriculture and rural economic development, are bankingfinancial institutions. Rural banks as a kind of finance entities, taking partin rural financial market, helps to improve rural financial system, solvethe problem of insufficient financial supply and low coverage. Nowadays,rural banks are still in the early stage of exploration, the impact on ruraleconomy failed to show a significant effect, especially for ethnic minorityareas where economy is relatively backward, whether rural banks play acertain role and how important the role is should be studied byeconometric method.Xiangxi rural bank is the first municipal rural bank, playing positiveroles in supporting three problems about countryside, agriculture andfarmers, and solving the financing difficulties of small and microenterprises. This paper selects Xiangxi rural bank located in XiangxiMiao and Tujia Autonomous Prefecture as an example. Through theempirical analysis, the impact of rural banks on economic development ofethnic minority areas is discussed. It will have an important practicaldifference on enriching the study of the relationship between rural banksand economic growth and expanding the influence of rural banks.The content of the thesis includes five parts. In the first part, theresearch at home and abroad is summarized and commented. In thesecond part, the theory and relationship between financial developmentand economic growth in ethnic minority areas is studied. In the third part,on the basis of the introduction of Xiangxi rural bank, the analysis of theproblem of Xiangxi rural bank supporting Xiangxi economicdevelopment is carried on. In the fourth part, the quantitative analysis ofthe impact of Xiangxi rural bank on Xiangxi economic development iscarried on. Through the analysis, the following conclusions obtained: oneis that Xiangxi rural bank’s financial development is the Granger causeof economic growth of Xiangxi and it has a certain role in promoting theeconomic growth. The other one is financial development scale, financial structure and financial efficiency of Xiangxi rural bank andXiangxi economic growth are positively correlated, but the weaksupport for Xiangxi rural bank to economic development of Xiangxiis shown. And the reason why Xiangxi rural bank provide weak supportfor Xiangxi economic development is analyzed. In the fifth part,countermeasures on strengthen the impact of rural banks on the economicdevelopment of ethnic minority areas is proposed. The study drew someconclusion, but Xiangxi rural bank established for a short time. Therefore,it is necessary to do further study.
