Now the society is in an era of information explosion, people always face a flood of information which is hard to select. McLuhan’s famous theory,"the medium is the message" describes the degree of development of the media will affect the mode of information dissemination. The development of media technology will promote a shift in the way how people live, but also result in the upheaval of tourism information dissemination. In this time that media is the king, new media has become an important channel for people to access the tourism information, and tourism industry also increasingly relies on new media communication. To Ganzhou tourism, how to effectively carry out dissemination activities on the new media platforms, becomes the key point of the current extension work.This paper mainly uses documentary method, questionnaire method and interview method. Starting from the perspective of communication and using related communication theories, the research analyzes the present situation of the tourism communication in Ganzhou city, especially the one on the new media platforms. On the other hand, the research summarizes the existing problems about the tourism communication in Ganzhou city by the method of questionnaire and interview. In the end of the research, it puts forward some strategies about improving tourism communication in Ganzhou in the age of new media. I hope to put forward useful strategies for the existing problems of tourism communication in Ganzhou, so that I can do little for the development of Ganzhou’s tourism.
