Study On The Urbanization Of The Western Region Of China

In December16,2012, the central economic work conference indicates that the urbanization is the historical mission of China’s modernization and also the largest potential of expanding domestic needs. So we need to actively guide and promote the healthy development of urbanization. The meeting pointed out that China should take the road of new urbanization while focusing on to find a foothold, for the sake of promoting and pushing forward the conversion of rural people to citizens in our country and thorough implementation on urban shanty town’s transformation, with special emphasis on the development of towns in the central and western regions.The city is a result of the dual economic and cultural development. The course of economic and social development shows that city level is a significant symbol to weigh a region’s economic and social development level. The21st Century is the century of city development. Urbanization will have a great effect on the China and even in the world. Domestic and foreign researchers have shown that if a country or a region wants to effectively promote the development of economy, society, culture and technology that must be going through the development of the city. China is the greatest developing country in whole world, has failed so far to change agriculture country. Researchers also shows that by the development of the city can effectively assimilate the huge rural over plus labor force, boost rural economic development technical structure and the step of science and technology, so as to raise the level of the overall regional development. The development of city can promote a regional and national modernization process. I think that urbanization is not only related to a country or a nation but also related to each of us. From small to old, I see urbanization brings large benefits in my life since young, from countryside home appliances TV to agricultural vehicles and so on are closely connected with the western urbanization. At present, China’s western region is set off an urbanization heat, this is because the level of development of this area’s relative lag and weak economic foundation. Therefore, the research on current situation and problem of the western region urbanization in our country is not only good for the total development of China’s western region, but has important practical meaning in the coming true of the overall strategic target on China’s economic and social development further more founding a melodious society. This article chiefly talks over the present urbanization situation of12provinces and autonomous regions in China’s western region, analyzes the principal issues existing in the urbanization of western area and the causes of the issues, and with references to successful urbanization cases in some developed countries and typical cases in developing countries for the study of cities in China’s western area. Finally, it is the most favorable suggestions for urbanization in Western region.
