Research On Linkage Development Between Regional Manufacturing And Logistics Industry And Its Supporting Platform

Abstract:Modern logistics is an important means to enhance the core competence of manufacturing enterprises, the manufacturing industry is the foundation of the development of the logistics industry demand. The joint development of manufacturing and logistics, would help the manufacturing industry to reduce costs, improve efficiency, promote industrial upgrading; therefore to release, integrate and optimize the use of social logistics resources, improve the logistics service level; and further to adjust and optimize the industrial structure, promote the transformation of the mode of economic development. In recent years, the Chinese government and industry have made a great effort to promote the linkage development of manufacturing industry and logistics industry. The current study of two industry linkage from the macro and the government point of view, rarely from a micro perspective study. This paper tries to study the two industry linkage from the micro level, the view from the perspective of enterprises. This paper reviews the theories, of the two industry linkage, analysis of the current situation of China’s two industry linkage and the main models and methods, technology, and proposed an mode for promotion of regional linkage development of manufacturing industry and logistics industry by combination of the entity platform, i.e logistics park, and an information platform, i.e provincial public information platform for logistics. And has carried on the analysis from four links namely the supply logistics, production logistics, sales logistics, reverse logistics to this kind of mode.The paper also carried out an empirical research to promote regional linkage development of two industry by ways of combination of the international logistics park in central Loudi as the solid platform, and Hunan Province logistics public information platform as the information platform. The empirical research is based on the author’s research experiances in the project "Hunan manufacturing industry and logistics linkage development research", funded by the Hunan economic and Information Committee, project of planning of multimodal transport center of the Hunan Loudi international logistics park and the project for construction of Hunan Province logistics public information platform.
