Economic globalization promotes multinational companies with a flourishinglydevelopmet,and Cultural divergence can not be avoided to these multinationalcompanies. Therefore, in the process of the development of multinational companiesoften need to merged several kinds of cultures (the culture of their country、the targetmarket culture、 the enterprise culture).Along with the process,Cross-culturalconflicts always happen in enterprise management and it becomes a final factor todecide the failure or success of multinational companies. Whether the cross-culturalconflict we face can be resolved is one of the important indicators to measure whethera multinational company achieved substantial success. Therefore, to identifycross-cultural conflicts existing in the company and choose the appropriatemanagement strategy of the cross-cultural conflict is very important to the success ofmultinational companies in the fierce international competition.In this paper, on the basis of previous studies about cross-cultural conflict andcombined with the theory of cross-cultural management. First, we conducted acomprehensive analysis of the cause of cross-cultural conflict in multinationalcompanies,we found that the differences in national, ethnic, values, behavior patternsand other things are the sources that lead cross-cultural conflict in multinationalcompanies. There are both implicit cross-cultural conflict and dominantcross-cultural conflict existing within the multinational corporations, thosecompanies should combine the existed characteristics of their own cultural conflictand select the appropriate cross-cultural management. Then, this article combinedwith the case of DHL company, we investigated and studied DHL’s phenomenon ofcross-culture and had a deep analysis on manifestations and management strategiesof cross-cultural conflicts, we found that the cross-cultural conflicts of DHLcompany are varied, which includes the cross-cultural conflicts between theemployees and cross-cultural conflict between managers. Suitable ways ofcross-cultural management can lead to coordination and integration of differentculture, Let the multiculturalism into a unique competitive advantage in amultinational company, so as to promote the development of multinationalcompanies. In order to achieve better development in the world, DHL adopted aseries of measures to carry out cross-cultural management,make a lot of existed cross-cultural conflict into growth opportunities, but there are also somemanagement defects. Finally, combining with the deficiencies of DHL that existed inthe cross-cultural management, this paper proposed some advices on interculturalconflict management in DHL.
