Research On The Coupling Relationship Between Urbanization And Industrialization Of Xining City

Urbanization and industrialization is the necessary stage in the process ofhuman social and economic development, it is also the two wings of the economicdevelopment of the society. To realize the coordinated development of urbanizationand industrialization is not only the inherent requirement of its sustainabledevelopment, but also an inevitable choice for the sustainable development of socialeconomy of our country. As the capital of Qinghai province, Xining is the largest city.It is also the first big city of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Combining the reality ofXining, our evaluation and analysis of the coupling relationship betweenurbanization and industrialization in Xining city not only has very importanttheoretical significance and value, but also has obvious practical significance.This paper adopts the analysis method of the combination of theory and practiceand the analysis method of combining qualitative with quantitative. From the relatedtheory of urbanization and industrialization and the connotation and characteristicsof the coupling development and drawing lessons from foreign experience ofurbanization and industrialization development, the author analyzes the presentsituation of the urbanization and industrialization development in Xining bycombining with the characteristics of Xining and using the method of the correlationanalysis, the general pattern of Chenery and Syrquin and IU, NU internationalstandard method. In this way, the author puts forward some countermeasures for thecoordinated development of Xining’s urbanization and industrialization.From the study, the author finds that the trend of urbanization level of XiningCity is straightly rising, higher than that of the national average. That is to say, thedevelopment of urbanization is rapid; Xining’s industrialization level is in the middleand later stage. The deviations between urbanization and industrialization graduallynarrows and their coupling relationship is in the good trend, their development ismore and more harmonious. By analyzing the time series of urbanization andeconomic development level, the author comes to the conclusion that Xining’surbanization level is significantly related to the economic development. It has alogarithmic relation with per capita GDP. By using the general pattern of Cheneryand Syrquin, the author analyzes and finds that the rate of urbanization in Xining isnot lagging, but slightly advancing. Analyzing by IU, NU international standardmethod, the author draws the conclusion: before the year of2005, Xining’surbanization development is advancing and the phenomenon of excessiveurbanization appears; However, after the year of2005, the two developedcoordinately.
