This research is centered on the geographical expansion of management consulting firms in South East Asia. The thesis starts by laying out some geographical and industry definition premises. The study then moves into understanding the driving forces of geographical expansion of the consulting activity, adding its contribution with the objective of creating a complete perspective. The study then moves to the consulting market in South East Asia, describing its specificities and trying to depict its trends. An analysis of the macroeconomic drivers behind the consulting expansion in South East Asia is carried out, at the aim of understanding the possibly underrated factors of attractiveness of the local market. After these parts, the thesis discusses and provides.a holistic methodology for market entrance, which takes into consideration, alongside the well-discussed reactive revenue streams, also proactive revenue streams. The methodology is intended to be a blueprint and not a final model, meaning that firms are supposed to modify the methodology according to their needs and that relying on better econometrical predictors for market potential is strongly suggested. The research then discusses possible implications of its application and provides up-to-date insight on the current market of management consulting in South East Asia, showing the most promising countries and the likely paths that the consulting industry will follow in the continent.
