The size of the rural labor transfer employment income return has long beena hot issue of concern to Government and academia. All the scholars agree the view ofrural labor transfer employment can increase income. But research conclusions varygreatly about the size of the effect on employment of rural labor force’srevenue.Except to the data used in various studies year, sample size and the range ofsamples, differences in the employment effects of rural labor transfer methods usedalso important cause vastly different conclusions.This paper attempts to use more scientific econometric methods to estimates therural labor transfer employment income effect based on existing research. Articlesusing Chinese household income project (CHIP) survey data, Estimating the Effect ofrural labor employment nationwide, eastern, central and western regions of the percapita household income using traditional linear regression method and estimate theeffect of family characteristics variables affecting household income per capita firstly;Secondly, Based on the "counterfactual" analysis framework, using matchingestimators method, considering the heterogeneity of rural families, trying to moreaccurately estimate the labor transfer employmentimpact on rural household incomes.Study found that in terms of the national average, households rural labor transferemployment can make the family per capita income increased by10.6%, In Eastern,Central and Western areas, the western region transfer of employment income effectis the largest; it is the opposite of the existing research conclusion. Research hasshown that traditional linear regression model due to ignore the heterogeneity of ruralhouseholds, caused the sample selection bias and overestimated the income effect ofemployment, this paper uses matching estimator method are more accurate andreliable results.
