Research On The Influence Of The Farmers，land Values To Farmland Use

Since ancient times,China has been a large agricultural country,agriculture is thebackbone of our economy,and land is the basis for farmers to settle down.However,with the rapid economic development and changes of the land system,the feelings offarmers on the land have gradually changed,meanwhile,the land use patterns havetaken place corresponding changes,and showed a wide range of trends.In order toexplore the theoretical system of farmers’ land values and its impact on agriculturalland use,choosing the Hexi Corridor as research area,using the method of fieldvisits,this paper investigaties the condition of farmers’ land values and agriculturalland utilization.Firstly,this paper builds the theoretical system of farmers’ land valuesusing Likert scale;Secondly,it measures the farmers’ land values;Then it analyzes theimpact mechanism of farmers’ land values on agricultural land usequalitatively;Lastly,it study the impact degree of farmers’ land values on agriculturalland use quantitatively using structural equation model.Through research,this paper draws following conclusions:⑴Farmers’ land values refer to the farmers’ awareness and evaluation tosignificance and importance of the land itself. There’re five value types: landinsurance type,land oriented type,land affinity type, land earning type and land loadtype.⑵The theoretical system of farmers’ land values has theoretical significance. Thewhole reliability coefficient of scale of farmers’ land values is0.83, Reliabilitycoefficient of each dimension is greater than0.8,which shows internal questions ofScale sesigned in this paper has better consistency.The scale has good convergent anddiscriminant validity,that is every dimensions can measure different aspects of farmers’land values,it also responses the same content.⑶Empirical measure of farmers’ land values indicates that the weight of landinsurance type is25.20%,the weight of land affinity type is22.22%,the weight of landoriented type is21.41%,the weight of land load type is16.80%,the weight of landearning type is14.36%.land insurance type is the mainstream values of farmers’ land values.⑷Qualitative analysis showed that:the type, level of education,age distribution,sources of income and experience of migrant workers of five kinds of farmers’ landvalues are different,and the impacts on land use are different.The people who holdland oriented type mostly are pure farmer,their education level are in primary andlower,household income are all from agricultural income,they are almost noexperience of migrant workers, and they generally carry out intensive cultivation toland.The people whohold land affinity type are multiple occupations farmers,whosefamily income is main from agricultural income,the education level is roughly juniorand below,they have had the experience of migrant workers and actively use the landand input to get more agricultural income.The people who hold land insurance typeand land earning type are multiple occupations farmers,whose family income is mainfrom non-farm income,their educational level are high school,they are workingoutside now,land use degree and land input intensity are most the same,but thewillingness of land transfer vary greatly;The people who support for land load typeare most non-farmers,educational level are higher than the first four values,basichousehold income does not include agriculture income,their lands are cultivated byothers or are abandoned,therefore,they are more willing to transfer lands.⑸Quantitative studies show that:impact degree of land oriented type on land usedegree and land input intensity is the highest than other four land values,impactdegree of land oriented type on land transfer is the lowest.The impact degree of landaffinity type,land insurance type and land earning type on land use degree and landinput intensity reduce by order,among these three values,impact of land earning typeon degree of land transfer is the hiahest.The second is land affinity type,the last island oriented type.The impact degree of land load type on willingness of land transferis positive correlation,but the impact of it on land use degree and land input intensityare negative correlation.⑹Diversified farmers’ land values generates different behavior of landuse,therefore the setting of policies of land use should conform to the differentiationof these values.Qualitative and quantitative studies show that land values are different,leading to the ways of land use are different too,the government shoulddevelop appropriate policies according to this conclusion.As for the people who holdland load type,government can guide them to take part in land transfer to avoid wasteand fallow land;As for the people who hold land earning type and have willingness ofland transfer,government can carry out incentives and subsidies polices and allowmore land to transfer,in order to expand the scale of operation.As for the people whohold land insurance type,government should give them adequate compensation andsocial security benefits to make them not worry their lives after laeve lands.As for thepeople who hold land oriented type and land affinity type,government can promoteagricultural technology or agricultural training and allow them to cultivate intensively,in order to increase food production.
