China expects to see an ever-growing market volume of its medical serviceswithin a more concentrated industry as the country deepens its health care systemreform. Even with a strong momentum of growth, medical businesses are still at theircritical time of changes where the industry may be subject to national policies or otheruncertainties.This thesis discusses the future development pattern and strategic planning ofTaiping Company (hereinafter as referred to “Taiping”) and aims to addressproblems Taiping will face. These problems include: how to face its opportunities andthreats; how to use its strengths and overcome its weaknesses; how to establish andimprove its core competitiveness; how to achieve sustainable development; andstrategies to achieve its strategic goal.This thesis includes seven parts:Part1, Introduction: to introduce background of China’s medical serviceindustry, Taiping’s current situation, and significance and ideas of this thesis.Part2, Theoretical Overview: to introduce the strategic theory and analyticalframework of this thesis, and analyze using Positioning theory, SWOT Analysis,PEST Analysis and Five-Force Analysis.Part3, Enterprise External Environment: to analyze macro-economicenvironment and market competitiveness using PEST Analysis and Five-ForceAnalysis.Part4, Review of Strategies and their Effects: to analyze Taiping’s strategiesduring the courses of10th,11thand12thFive-Year Plans, and assess their effects.Part5, Analysis of Enterprise Productivity and Selection of Strategy: to analyzethe in-house resources and productivity, and introduce adaptive strategies usingSWOT Analysis.Part6, Strategies for Future Development: to introduce strategies for futuredevelopment based on Taiping’s corporate vision and strategic goals.Part7, Conclusion: to come to a conclusion of the thesis.This thesis discusses the strategic management theory in the field of medical circulation. Analysis on Taiping’s future development pattern and strategicpositioning in this thesis may provide reference for relevant research by other medicalbusinesses in China, and help them select their own development strategies andstrategy implementation.
