Guangdong is one of the most highly economic developed provinces in China. The economy of Guangdong has kept a rapid development in the recent years, andtherefore its energy consumption rose sharply in the same period. However,Guangdong is also a province that lacks traditional fossil energy, over90%of whoseenergy needs to be imported from other provinces or abroad. Geographically,Guangdong is far away from the basements of traditional energy. As its energyconsumption is mainly depends on coal, its current energy consumption structure hasalready brought great pressure to both environment and transportation. Along with thecontinual deterioration of global energy circumstances, the fossil energy supply hasshowed a trend of exhaustion gradually, and the price of primary energy climbs uprapidly as well. The contradiction of energy supply and demand brings un-negligiblehidden troubles to the safety of power supply of Guangdong Province, and will be oneof the main factors which restrict the economic growth of Guangdong Province.Developing distributed energy favors the improvement of the energy structure ofGuangdong, and is one of the most efficient methods to solve the power supplyproblem of Guangdong Province.First, this paper systematically reviews the research status of distributed energyboth at home and abroad. After an in-depth and comprehensive analysis of the energystructure situation and energy consumption trends of the Guangdong Province, thisthesis finds that the power consumption of Guangdong Province mainly relies on coal, and geographically is centralized around the Pearl River Delta, such as GuangFo,ShenGuangHui and JiangZhongZhu districts. According to data analysis, this thesisforecasts the trend of power consumption of Guangdong in the following years.Combining with the power restructuring experience of countries around the world, this thesis puts forward the suggestion of developing distributed energy in GuangdongProvince, as well as the recent and long-term objectives, principles and correspondingcountermeasures of power restructuring. The main innovation of this thesis is thein-depth analysis of the current status, problems and countermeasures of energydevelopment of Guangdong Province.
