New product development capability is one of the core competitiveness ofenterprises. With the mobile Internet era coming, the relationship between users andenterprises changes from the traditional one-way to two-way interaction. All aspectsof business operations of the value chain are affected by the Internet, and businesscompetition is based on user needs, user experience and time competition now,which traditionally based on competitive price, quality and service. Productdevelopment model has also undergone a corresponding change. Therefore, how toeffectively tap the user needs to build a new product development process hasbecome an important issue on the era of the Internet.Firstly, this paper analyses the research status of user needs and new productdevelopment management theory, and puts forward the limitations of the traditionaltheory under current condition. Combining features of the Internet thinking, thispaper builds a model from a user needs analysis both qualitative and quantitativepoint to determine the core needs of the product, so that the new productdevelopment activities continue to be able to respond flexibly to the changing userneeds. Then, this paper proposes a new product development process based onInternet, while compared with the traditional process. Finally, this paper uses anInternet company instance to verify the proposed model of user needs analysis andthe new product development process. This paper argues that the critical analysis ofuser needs is the recognition of the core needs matched with target user attributesbased on use scene. Accordingly, the key points of the new product developmentprocess include the user needs analysis and rapid iteration and the specificperformance is that taking the user emotional experience as the center, and continuediterative development.
