As a sustainable clean energy, wind power industry is now highlycommercialized. However, due to its own properties, wind power production isusually influenced by climate conditions and government policy. After10-year’sfast development the wind power industry in China is encounteringhugechallenges. Quite a number of fast-growing wind power producers face thepressures from either giving up usage of wind or limiting wind power output,which lead to severe limitation of productive capacity and decrease of profit.Meanwhilewind power producers have toput significant capital into technologyimprovement to meet the urgent requirement from the grid company.Under the pressures from productivity limitation and capital input, many windenergy producers are experiencing a very tough period. Additionally due to theadjustment of national energy policy somecompleted wind farms are not able toget access tothe grid where the wind turbines have to stand idly.This directlyresults in the continuous profit decline of of wind turbine industry andmanufacturers have to reduce production and lay off employees.Under such circumstances where shall the Chinese wind industry go and howshould the wind enterprises act in difficult times to ensure the continuousdevelopment of wind industry in a a healthy, competitive and sustainable way?This paperstarts from development trend of Chinese wind sector and usesSWOT method to analyze a typical Chinese wind power producer and tries tofind an effective response strategy for Chinese wind enterprises to enhance theircompetitiveness and realize a healthy and sustainable growth, and to providethem an theoretical model for corporate development.At the same time the author hopes to explore a way of sustainable developmentfor the whole wind industry in China by studying the strategy of one wind energycompany.
