Recently, tourism industrial in China has grown fast and became the one of engines for regional economic growth and human wellbeing improvement. Thus, the development efficiency of tourism industry and its driving factors has received much attention. Nowadays, lots of studies has focused on the temporal evolution, spatial disparity, input-output analysis and social-economic drivers of tourism development. How to realize the benign and rapid development of tourism industry, became one of the main problems the provinces concerned. So based on the national 31 provinces as the study area, mainly analyzed the tourism industry development efficiency, temporal and spatial variation characteristics and the main influence factors by DEA, ArcGIS, Geoda0905i, and Panel data model.First, by using the BCC, CCR and Malmquist index model of the DEA method, we analyzed static efficiency, dynamic efficiency, input redundancy and output deficiency of tourism industry, and divided the research time section into four segments to study the spatial patterns of the comprehensive efficiency and total factor productivity. The results showe that there were six provinces which were the optimal for the static efficiency and did not appear input redundancy and output deficiency. Tourism professionals were quite redundant, foreign currency income was quite deficient. Provinces were tested tourism industry comprehensive efficiency growth, mainly due to the introduction of high-tech and innovation.Nest, based on the spatial autocorrelation analysis, using Geoda0950i and ArcGIS analyzed the global and local spatial autocorrelation of comprehensive efficiency. We also investigated the temporal evolution and spatial disparity in comprehensive efficiency of tourism industry. The results show that tourism spatial autocorrelation was not strong, the majority of the years were random distribution, and did not exist concentration areas of high value or low value for comprehensive efficiency. Finally, by using panel data models, we selected seven indicators from tourism revenues, the number of institutions, infrastructure status, per capita income, etc. to study the main factors affecting to comprehensive efficiency of tourism. The results show that tourism revenues, road conditions and income of the farmers had a positive effect on the comprehensive efficiency of the tourism, however, income of urban residents had a negative effect.
