| Debin Du, the professor of East Normal University; first put forward the concept of "Innovation Engine Enterprise" on the issue of "Shanghai will be built to be a global scientific and technical innovation center", and the lack of local Innovation Engine Enterprise was considered as one of the bottleneck problems in this process. Shenzhen, Chinese forefront of reform and opening, scientific and technical innovation, has already cultivated a batch of Innovation Engine Enterprises equipped with strong innovation capacity, powerful industry driving force and international influence; and it climbed atop the "Rank List of Innovation Capacity of Chinese Mainland Cities" in 2014, however, Shanghai cannot be found in the top three.Several questions were raised under that background. Based on some related research at home and abroad, theories of Evolutionary Economics and Innovation Ecosystem, "Innovation Engine Enterprise" was taken as the research object. Depending on the combined use of Multidisciplinary Studies, Qualitative and quantitative analysis, this paper made a tentative study on the definition, evaluation and recognition of "Innovation Engine Enterprise", and whose evolution mechanism was summarized as well, in order to enrich the theories of enterprise innovation and provide reference for "Innovation Engine Enterprise"cultivationaround China. Meanwhile, the combination of theory and practice was emphasized in this paper, so Shenzhen was chosen as the study case. Recognizing "Innovation Engine Enterprise" in Shenzhen and analyzing their specific evolution mechanism would be full of guiding significance.The research work and conclusion of this paper summarized as follows:(1) Definition of "Innovation Engine Enterprise". Based on the comprehensive understanding about the operating principle of engineand the connotation of "Innovative Enterprise", "Innovation Engine Enterprise" can be defined as bellow:a local leading innovative enterprise, provided with the essential features of "Innovative Enterprise"; taking the leading position in enterprise innovation capacity, innovative product, international influence, enterprise scale, operation & earningcapacity and so on; driving the innovation and development of othersmall and medium-sized enterprises; exerting a tractive effort on the whole innovation ecosystem.(2) Recognition of "Innovation Engine Enterprise". The paper firstly set up a evaluation index system by AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), then made a evaluation and recognition on 84 sample enterprises in Shenzhen by use of FCE (Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluations), so come with a result:11 sample enterprises, innovation engine capacity of which belong in "Active" interval, were regarded as the "Innovation Engine Enterprise", such as Huawei, ZTE, BGI, Tecent, BYD and so on.(3) Conclusion about the evolution paths of "Innovation Engine Enterprise". This part was unfolded from macro, medium and microdimensions. Macro analysis was carried through three different perspectives, that is, market, technology, organization; medium analysis focused on industry, which respectively summarized specific evolution path of three new and high technology industries in Shenzhen; micro analysis was located to an enterprise entity, in which the specific evolution path of Huawei was explored and studied in detail.(4) Study on the internal evolution mechanism of "Innovation Engine Enterprise". Drawing from the thought of Evolutionary Economics, the paper believed that some "genes"existed in the body of "Innovation Engine Enterprise", affect and dominate its behavior and evolution, which included "entrepreneurship gene", "innovation capacity gene", "enterprise institution gene". Based on that, four primary internal evolution mechanisms were summarized:genetic mechanism, searching mechanism, breakthrough mechanism, and choice mechanism.(5) Study on the external evolution mechanism of "Innovation Engine Enterprise". Based on Innovation Ecosystem theory and hierarchicalanalogy on corresponding factors between natural ecosystems and innovation ecosystem, five constructional external evolution mechanisms were concluded:collaborative innovation mechanism in innovative communities, incubation mechanism in innovative habitat, fusion mechanism in innovative landscape, and cultivation mechanism in innovative environment.(6) Study on the external evolution mechanism of Shenzhen "Innovation Engine Enterprise". The reason why Shenzhen can cultivate a batch of "Innovation Engine Enterprises" can be concluded as below:the government, enterprises, universities and research institutes co-built a high-efficient collaborative innovation mechanism; high-tech development zone, together with the enterprise incubators and public technology platforms, took shape of available incubation mechanism; finance, legal institution merger well with science and technology innovation; what’s more, superiorgeographical condition, regional innovation advantage because of bordering on Honking, and comprehensive culture of innovation, constituted an innovative environment with a specific cultivation mechanism in Shenzhen. |
