For Chinese enterprises, how to motivate staff effectively is essential to the survival and sustainable development of them in the increasingly competitive market. The effective motivation of staff can bring about a stable operation of the enterprise, give full play to the responsibility and creativity of the staff, and reduce frictions and resistance, hence, lowering the cost of production and management. On the contrary, poor motivation system results in the decrease of efficiency, rise of cost of production and management, brain drain, and a broken interest link, threatening the enterprises greatly.In the enterprise management, many cases prove there exists dilemma and mistakes in the recognition and practice of staff motivation, making the system invalid. Those failures are due to that the enterprises do not know how to motivate the staff correctly or that the enterprises simply copy and practice the motivation system of other enterprises.The paper is to quote and analyze the relevant research findings about incentive system, probe into the reasons behind staff motivation failures and put forward an idea that the establishment of a harmony-view based motivation mechanism is fundamental and plays a guiding role in the motivation of enterprise staff. In light of traditional Chinese culture and social reality and by stating the principles and methods, the paper is to provide a theoretical base and practice plan of a harmony-view based motivation mechanism for domestic enterprise management.
