Research On Management Mode Of Exhibition Center

With the continuous grandness of MICE industry in China, MICE is playing a more and more apparent role in promoting economic growth and enriching life. Conference and exhibition venues are carriers of MICE, which is also the foundation of MICE industry’s rise and development. The operating and management performance of conference and exhibition venues is the measurement index of MICE industry’s sustainable development.Although it was started late, exhibition and convention centers are developing rapidly in our country. However, theoretical research on exhibition and convention centers is still relatively backward. It is the existing problems of conference and exhibition venues operation and management that restrict the development of MICE industry. Besides, these problems make it hard to achieve unified social and economic benefits and win-win with stakeholders. Against the background of SWOT analysis of conference and exhibition venues and based on the six-force interaction model, the paper, tries to study on the operating and management performance of conference and exhibition venues. What’s more,the paper constructed evaluating indexes system on operating and management performance of conference and exhibition venues. Finally, the paper provided some countermeasures and proposals on how to solve the existing problems, in order to provide reference for the will soon completed Hongqiao National Exhibition and Convention Center on operating and management.In theoretically, this paper further enriched theoretical research on operating and management of conference and exhibition venues, which is also a beneficial supplement to research of MICE. Besides, it is the perfection and innovation of operating and management of conference and exhibition venues. In reality, the paper can provide reference and theoretical support for Hongqiao National Exhibition and Convention Center in strategy making. Therefore this study has both theoretical guidance and realistic meaning.By using the methods of historical research, documentation analysis, Delphi method,comparison research, analytic hierarchy process and experience summary, the paper combined theoretical analysis and empirical study on operating and management of conference and exhibition venues. In theoretical analysis part, the paper introduced relevant basic theories and the studies of current analysis on MICE and conference and exhibition venues, and discussed the operating and management of conference and exhibition venues. In empirical study part, the paper analyzed current situation of development of conference and exhibition venues in China, and draw lessons from the advanced management experience of the international famous conference and exhibition venues. Aiming at the problems and shortcomings existing in operating and management performance of conference and exhibition venues, the paper put forward some methods for Hongqiao National Exhibition and Convention Center in enhancing the competitive ability.The composition of this study is seven chapters: basic part(the first chapter is exordium), the first chapter briefly introduced background, research method and the current status of the research. Theoretical part(the second chapter is theoretical foundation), the second chapter summarized concept of MICE, conference and exhibition venues and strategic management. Analysis part(the third chapter is the study of current analysis on conference and exhibition venues in China, the forth chapter is the advanced management experience of the international famous conference and exhibition venues).Firstly, analyze the current development of conference and exhibition venues in China.Then draw apply SWOT analysis method analyze business environment of Hongqiao National Exhibition and Convention Center. Finally, lessons from the advanced management experience of the international famous conference and exhibition venues,such as Hanover conference and exhibition venues, Las Vegas conference and exhibition venues and Hongkong conference and exhibition venues. Application part( the fifth chapter is six-force interaction model and constructed evaluating indexes system on operating and management performance of conference and exhibition venues, the sixth chapter is countermeasures for Hongqiao National Exhibition and Convention Center).Based on frontal analysis, the fifth chapter used six-force interaction model to analyze the stakeholders of conference and exhibition venues, then constructed evaluating indexes system on operating and management performance of conference and exhibition venues.Finally, the paper provided some countermeasures and proposals on enhance operating and management efficiency of Hongqiao National Exhibition and Convention Center.Summary part(the seventh chapter is conclusion and prospect), the seventh chapter given the summary and prospect of the research results, and pointed out existent insufficiency of this research. Finally the paper indicated its future research direction.
