At present, the age structure of the labor force is undergoing a major adjustment in China, the new generation of migrant workers are gradually becoming the main staff of SMEs(small and medium enterprises) by replacing the older generation of migrant workers. Due to the different of living conditions, level of education and employment environment, they have formed a typical characteristics that is different from the older generation of of migrant workers, thus causing a tremendous impact on the current labor management model of SMEs. Both the coastal developed cities and the traditional labor-exporting provinces are currently suffering from labor shortage storm. Faced with widespread and persistent labor shortage, SMEs how to strengthen the labor management of new generation of migrant workers has become imperative. Therefore, this paper, on the basis of combing relevant theories, takes RT’s labor management of new generation of migrant workers as an example to study.By normative analysis, this paper defines the concept of the new generation of migrant workers and their typical characteristics, gives the division basis and scope of SMEs, discusses the connotation of labor management and certain theories, and explains the relationship between labor management of SMEs and new generation of migrant workers. Meanwhile, this paper deeply analyzes the main problems existing in labor management of RT’s new generation of migrant workers through questionnaire survey. combined with the employment characteristics of the new generation of migrant workers and the actual situation of RT company, targeted optimization routes are proposed from five dimensions: the labor management concepts, career development, remuneration system and the social security system, evaluation and incentive mechanism and humane care, to improve the labor management environment of RT’s new generation of migrant workers nad ensure that the company’s basic labor demand.
