In recent years, with the improvement of people’s living standards, China’s auto sales have the substantial growth in recent years, and become the world’s largest auto market. Foreign auto giants have settled in China. The rapid development of China’s automobile industry, has attracted many foreign auto manufacturers settled Chinese. They bring in advanced management concept and technology, at the same time, the opportunities and challenges brought about Chinese local carmakers.The basic idea of JIT is to eliminate waste, to get the maximum output with minimum investment, all customer demand. Due to the observability of the JIT mode of production practice of interest, many car manufacturers are beginning to use JIT mode of production in China. JIT demand the parts suppliers in the automotive manufacturers need time to a certain number of parts on time to the auto production line, compared with traditional logistics, the third party automobile logistics enterprises as the main operator advantages gradually.Because of the trade-off between inventory cost and service levels of third-party logistics, so the inventory control special important, while to satisfy the JIT production of the car manufacturers. Based on the JIT production mode of the third party automobile logistics parts inventory control as the research object, standing in the third party automobile logistics perspective, research on two aspects of the third party automobile logistics parts inventory and automobile manufacturing supply chain inventory. This article focuses on the following:① Analysis of third-party auto parts inventory requirements under JIT mode. Elaborated under JIT third party automobile logistics functions, including aspects of storage, set allocation, collaboration and information processing, and analyzed of thirdparty auto parts inventory requirements.② Analysis of TPL & VMI economic feasibility. To model economic based on distributed VMI and TPL & VMI. Analyze TPL & VMI short-term and long-term economic benefits and explore the range of TPL logistics services fees which making both suppliers and TPL profit.③Third-party logistics management and auto parts TPL & VMI inventory control under JIT mode. Firstly, the third party automobile logistics enterprises for the study, according to the characteristics of auto parts and JIT production requirements of car manufacturers, the ABC classification of parts distribution frequency, explaining various types of inventory management. Secondly, automobile manufacturing supply chain for the study, discuss the degree of integration of third-party automotive logistics and automobile manufacturing supply chain inventory impact on the automotive industry supply chain, each node enterprise. With the parts suppliers’ production interval, replenishment intervals and distribution interval of decision variables, establishing TPL & VMI model of decentralized coordination and centralized control type. And discuss third-party automotive logistics’ direction of development by case study.
