Rural land remediation work has been practiced for a long time in China. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council take more attention to strength it till the 21st century. According to the report of "national land management plan (2011-2015)", through land reclamation, not only number of cultivated land has been increased, but also the quality has been improved. Moreover, it plays an important role in increasing food production and ensuring food security. In 2014, the Ministry of Land and Resources issued the "Intensive Use of Land Conservation Provisions". It clearly stated that redevelopment of the inefficient use of urban and rural land construction must be based on land use planning and land remediation planning. As a result, it can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of land use and promote economical and intensive land use level. In the new period of development, our country promote the higher demands on land remediation. Implementation of efficient, economical and intensive use of the land has become an urgent need for solving current problems.The ecological suitability theory is applied to this study. According to the analysis of the "state" and "potential",built on "state "" potential " and the evaluation model combining the external environment, the appropriate size of rural residential urbanization and remediation has been measured, and the spatial agglomeration characteristics and mutations of rural residential urbanization and remediation has been verified in this study. This study not only indicated that study area of rural settlements can be transformed into urban construction land boundaries, but also provided theoretical guidance for the rational use of land resources and improvement of economical and intensive use. According to series of Nan’an District case analysis, the content and conclusions are as follows:(1) On the full understanding of basic research scholars of theoretical research and village renovation of niche suitability evaluation within the perspective of the metropolitan fringe, this study investigated metropolitan fringe rural residential urbanization niche fitness remediation and built a new ecological niche suitability evaluation model.(2) In this niche suitability evaluation process, a variety of factors of "potential" and the "state" have been fully considered. Through the establishment of evaluation screening model for screening of selected indicators, large precision scale urban fringe rural residential renovation urbanization can be developed.(3) According to the ecological niche suitability evaluation model, the south coast town of the rural residential area magnitude improvement of fitness scores have been estimated, the standard of all evaluated levels are highly suitable, moderately suitable, low fit, unfit very suitable, at all levels in rural residential land area are 207.21 hectares, 237.32 hectares,333.97 hectares,526.86 hectares,274.64 hectares respectively.(4) by the overlay function of ARCGIS software, the evaluated results of the study area and the administrative towns were overlay analyzed. appropriate scale urbanization of the different rural residential renovation Towns has been figured out; Through the use of spatial analysis software ARCGIS set travel costs time zone and elevation gravity, the distribution of the zonal urbanization of rural settlements in the study area remediation has been analyzed. As a result, rural residential urbanization major renovation in the study area showed a clear differentiation zone rules and resistance mutations characterized by elevation and road gravitational interaction.(5) Finally, the full text of the article has been systematically summarized. a reasonable size for advancing urbanization of rural residential renovation has been resulted. Further future research have been recommended.
