With the rapid development of economy and the gradually improvement of urbanization, the communication of economic, cultural between urban and rural becomes increasingly close. Thus, the travel demands of residents are increasing obviously no matter in urban or rural areas. Nowadays, the public transit is widely adopted in urban but not in rural areas. Obliviously, the public transit management model has been unable to meet the whole-day, large capacity, short distance, high frequency of travel demands of residents in urban and rural areas. Therefore, it is urgent to integrate the public transit between urban and rural areas, to provide fast and convenient public transit services for residents. Based on the background of the urban and rural areas integration, the thesis has conducted the thorough research on the public transport line network layout planning and development strategy of urban-rural public transit integration in Zhuzhou.First of all, through the summary to the domestic and foreign related research on the urban-rural public transit integration, the thesis analysis the research status of urban-rural public transit integration in China, and then investigate the difference of the concept and category between the urban-rural integration and the urban-rural public transit integration, to clarify the theory interrelation between them.Secondly, the thesis focused on the analysis of development environment of urban-rural public transit, and the travel characteristics of urban and rural passenger in Zhuzhou, including the passenger travel time, travel mode, travel position. Then, through analysis and summary of the main problems of public transport in urban and rural areas of Zhuzhou City, the thesis found that the public transit network structure of Zhuzhou is single, the density of network layout distribution is uneven, the station infrastructure construction is lag, the quantity of terminal station is shortage, and the transfer station is too concentrated, etc.Then, forecast population, social economy in Zhuzhou city respectively, and according to the trip characteristics of urban and rural residents in Zhuzhou, the thesis divides Zhuzhou into 129 small traffic areas,20 medium traffic areas, and 5 large traffic zones by cluster analysis method. Then, the four-stage model of urban-rural public transit demands forecast and analysis was established for Zhuzhou.Furthermore, according to the results of public traffic demands forecasting, the thesis adopt the hierarchical layout method to divide public transit network of Zhuzhou into 4 hierarchies, including the rapid transit network, the skeleton transit network, the basic transit network, and regional and suburban bus lines. Then, the layouts of bus lines were disposed respectively.Finally, referring to the advanced traffic development models and management concepts of urban-rural public transit integration in domestic and international cities, the thesis put forward the suitable development strategy and corresponding security measures for urban-rural public transit integration in Zhuzhou.
