Research On The Employment Effect Of The Adjustment Of Industrial Structure

With the development of our economy, the adjustment of industrial structure is an inevitable trend. The industrial sector is the carrier of absorbing labor force, and the adjustment and upgrading of industrial structure will lead to changes in the total of employment and the employment structure. With the continuous progress of technology, the changes of market demand structure, and the development of modern services industry, there will many adjustment in industrial structure. This will lead many changes in the total number of employment and employment structure. However, the changes of employment structure are different from the changes of industrial structure sometimes, and this makes the industrial structure and employment structure some deviations. With the industrial structure toward rationalization and advancement, it will affect the development of industrial structure if the structure of employment could not adapt it. It will impact the growth of the whole economy eventually.The adjustment of industrial structure is divided into rationalization and advancement on the employment effect. This paper conducts the related literature about the impact of industrial structure on employment from three aspects:the changing trend of industrial structure and employment structure; the adjustment of industrial structure on the employment effect; the current situation of industrial structure and employment structure. In the theoretical analysis, the adjustment of industrial structure impact on employment through two aspects of industrial structure rationalization and advancement. The industrial structure rationalization mainly influence employment by changing the level of income and output. The advancement of industrial structure mainly influence employment by the service industry and technological progress. The development of the industrial structure and employment structure of Jiangsu Province in accordance with the general evolution law, but the changes are not synchronized, and they appear certain deviation. Compared with other industries, the emerging service industry has a strong ability of absorbing labor force. In this paper, we establish a certain model and select the relevant data to conduct the data panel regression by using GLS, and comes to conclusion:The employment effect of Jiangsu Province industrial structure rationalization is positive; the employment effect of Jiangsu Province industrial structure advancement is negative. Based on the above theory and empirical results, policy suggestion are put forward:the emerging service industry should be paid special attention; the pulling effect of technological progress on employment should be strengthened; the institutional obstacles of transferring surplus labor should be eliminated in the rural.
