Study On Constructing The Regional Central City Under The City’s Subway Economic Background

In current extreme competitive world, the competition between countries has evolved to the competition between cities and regions. The central regional city plays a very important role in the term of driving the economic development of whole region. It becomes the center of politics, economy, culture and technology in this region.Regional economic development has already entered into a new historical period in China, how to ensure regional harmonious development and to reduce regional development disparity between eastern and western regions becomes an important problem of regional economic development in China. LanZhou City as an important western city is facing many challenges, how to improve the lead ship on Gansu Provincial economy and western economy moreover, how to enhance core city function, how to promote coordinate regional development, how to rise up the integrated competitive capability. All of these are urgent research topics for LanZhou City..The subway transportation has developed dramatically since earlier last century in many big cities worldwide. It did not only pushed forward the development of subway transportation rapidly, but also improved coordinate development among financial innovation, city construction and related manufacture industry. In 2009, the Gansu Provincial clearly stated that "central drive, fly with both wings, group development as a whole," the regional development strategy; 2012 Lanzhou "Lanzhou urban rail transit construction planning," the State approval, Maryland became northwest section 2, the western section 7, section 29 has a rail transit construction and cities across the country. Expectations for many years, more than 3.6 million people in Maryland "Metro Dream" come true. In this new strategic situation, the metro economic development of business opportunities for the city gave birth to the formation of the subway economic zone, and the subway economic zone, in turn, the economic prosperity of the city, the city became a center of strategic development throughout the region to start the engine.The regional development of Gansu province is a long-term and dynamic process, Lanzhou city needs play as the central city to contribute its energy for long and continuously through the method "from point to area" to promote the regional development as a whole steadily.The logical clues of this thesis are from theoretical study to empirical analysis then to policy recommendations. Concept definition studies metro economy, and constitute an effective features, advantages and disadvantages of empirical analysis to build a regional center of the city and the opportunities facing the metro economy in the era of Lanzhou City, the regional center of the city to explore the development of the law, and then come in the subway economic times Lanzhou further improve in the future, play a central role in promoting the realization of ways to provide targeted policy recommendations for the construction of a regional center of the city.At first, this paper expound the theoretical construction of regional central city, from connotation, features, functions and effects four aspects to analyze and summarize, to understand and hold the functions and value of the central city in which region it lies comprehensively and systematically. Make the comprehensive research on function of regional central city, city development and path finding; Secondly, from two main historical periods to expound and analyze the status of urban development and construction of Lanzhou, in order to provide some arguments for accurately grasp of how to build this center city in Lanzhou. This paper mainly elaborates the advantage and disadvantage of Lanzhou city on its urban, economic and social development; also from space, function, industry and image four dimensions to research the development strategy for regional central city. The four aspects are also the primary components of the integrated competitive capability of modern city, which will be helpful to make strategy choice rationally on developing path for constructing regional central city; meanwhile, to explore spatial expansion path, function promotion path, industry growth path and image creation path, with the result that can be better established the strategic objectives of Lanzhou for its future development as the regional central city.To construct the regional central city under subway-economic background—Lanzhou, is inevitable result of socio-economic development, it’s also the important mission that the times given the city, furthermore it’s the regional opportunity of urban development and construction for Lanzhou. I hope this thesis statement can provide necessary theoretical support and policy reference for Lanzhou city to construct the regional central city.
