Research On The Problem Of Transforming Migrant Workers Into New Citizens

Migrant workers are the new labor groups which appeared in the process of urbanization in China. They have made great contributions to promote the prosperity and development of cities and towns. The Third Plenary Session of our Party’s Eighteenth Central Committee put forward clearly that,(we should) gradually promote the agricultural transferring population to be new citizens. Migrant workers work in cities and towns. They have already been the members of the urban society. However, they used to be called "migrant workers". In the future, the calling should be renamed as "the new citizens"as the urbanization is speeding up. They should be given the basic right to share city housing, employment, health care, school education and all the other public services with urban residents. At the same time, the main task of urbanization is to go on attracting new migrant workers to live in cities and further transform them to be new citizens. Based on the above facts, I put the "Research On The Problem Of Transforming Migrant Workers Into New Citizens——Based On The Perspective Of Urbanization" as the paper topic.This paper firstly analyzes the present situation of transforming migrant workers into new citizens, then point out the difficulties of it and lastly puts forward some feasible countermeasures.
