As the basic, strategic and leading industry of the national economy, China telecommunications industry strongly drives the national economy and the progress of the society. In this paper, the main content is to estimate China telecommunicions driving contribution to national economy by input-output technology.First, the article outlines the background and significance, with the concepts of telecommunications driving contribution has defined, and proposes research ideas and innovations. Then, the relevant literature of industrial relevance theory and China telecommunications driving contribution has been combed and reviewed.Secondly, the paper introduces the basic principles, traditional model of input-output methods, as well as the calculation methods. Analyzing the lack of traditional methods and for these, make appropriate improvement to put forward the improved models and formulas. Finally, the calculations and summary have been proposed. This section includes analysis of current telecommunications industry, to select and adjust the input-output tables, the application of improved model and formulas calculating the driving contribution. Then, evaluate the method of calculation and summarize the main conclusion of the study. The main conclusions of this study lie in three parts. First, it is2.27in2007and3.95in2012which is the driving coefficient of China telecommunications industry, with73.94percent of its growth rate which is topped the list in all sectors. Secondly, the absolute contribution on output of telecommunications industry to the national economy and other departments has a rapid growth from2007to2012, with the machinery and equipment manufacturing industry on the top. The relative contribution has also increased but not so prominent. In the end, from2007to2012, the absolute contribution on value added has a generally substantial growth while the growth of relative contribution is not high. On the one hand, it indicates that China telecommunications industry has an increasingly close with other sectors. On the other hand, there may be room for the improvement of the telecommunications industry. The innovations of this paper lie in two aspects. one is building the basic flow statement in the2012Chinese input-output table and improving the traditional input-output model on the household sector, import items and exogenous variables of the model.
