As the continuous development of economic society, the competition betweenenterprises grows increasingly fierce. The results of quality management and theproduct quality of a company has become directly one of its core competitiveness. Foraviation engine companies, the products are often used in air transportation andmilitary needs under which the using environment is very bad. Therefore, therequirements for the quality and reliability of products are higher. Consequently, it isextremely important for aviation companies to build up a preventative qualitymanagement system and to use preventative quality management measures to improvethe manufacture quality management level.This paper is mainly for the quality issues occurs during the manufacturingprocess of an aviation engine company subsidiary which deals with internationalsubcontract business through the collection, organization and statistics of scrap partsdata and the analysis of primary causes resulting in such scrap parts, deeply analyzingeach essential factor and proposing corresponding preventative quality improvementmeasures, and at last implementing such measures and verifying the results.The research contents of this paper are as following:1) Use5M1E, Pareto Diagram to analyze the main results of scrap parts based onthe scrap loss data statistics of the year2011, implement ABC classification todetermine the improvement points of this paper and analyze the necessity of theestablishment of company’s preventative quality management system.2) For the key factor resulting in the scrap parts–human factor, based on thedata statistics of scrap loss caused by human factor of the year2011, adopt methodssuch as Brain Strom, Pareto Diagram, etc., to determine the ABC factors of humancaused error; use Association Graph to determine the key factors and offer specificpreventative quality management measures.3) Make deep analysis and research of the three main factors causing the scrapparts: new parts development, raw material, cutting tools, respect ively utilize ParetoDiagram, Causality Diagram to determine the causes of scrap parts based on therecords of scrap parts caused by such three factors, and use Association Graph todetermine the essential factors of such three types of scrap parts. Finall y, sort out suchessential factors in the form of Tree Graph by causal relationship and propose relevantpreventative quality improvement measures. 4) For equipment factor, combined with the real situation such as equipmentsaging seriously, adopt TPM tool to grade and sort the equipment according to thedegrees of importance and annual usage situation, implement ABC classificationmanagement, carry out three-level maintenance system, finally put forward the spotinspection program linked with instances.5) For the prominent problem happens during the manufacture of a typical part,turbine casing, of the company–manual clamping and wire thread, use process flowsanalysis, causality diagram, pareto diagram to capture the essential factors, andrespectively adopt methods such as mistake-proofing tool, standardization to proposespecific preventative quality improvement measures and implement such measure toverify; finally make an effect comparison of the quality status of the company afterthe implementation of preventative quality management measures based on certainmain reference index such as external escape rate, internal escape rate, scrap rate,submittal rate of non-conformance sheet, qualification ratio under first acceptancecheck, in order to verify the effectiveness of the improvement scheme.
