With the development of Hainan International Tourist Island, Hainan hotel industry has made considerable progress, and the hotel management level has been greatly improved. In recent years, high-star hotel have settled in Hainan, as the most important resource of hotels, hotel employees have become main competition among hotels. Therefore, keeping qualified personnel stable, retaining talents and developing talents have become the priority of hotel’s human resources management. New employees are new blood of the hotel. The training and development for new staff play a very important role in improving the overall quality of staff, increasing employee satisfaction and loyalty to the hotel and ultimately reducing the outflow of talents. A scientific and effective training program for new employees has been the focus of training for many hotels. Many hotels carry out new staff trainings, but the results are not satisfactory. Research shows that new staff trainings for star-hotels in Hainan have fell flat.In this paper, in reference to domestic and foreign literatures about staff training and training practices which carried out by successful enterprises at home and abroad, it details and analyzes the present status of the new staff training of Haikou XYT Hotel. By distributing questionnaires about new staff training needs, the existing main problems of new staff training in this hotel is found out. The main problems are:incompletion of training courses; faculty deficiency of on-the-job training; lack of effective training feedback me charismas, and assessment and inventive mechanism for new staff. All the above-mentioned reasons result in increasing new staff turnover. And this phenomenon has become an important constraint for Haikou XYT Hotel talent management. Therefore, by referring to a series of training theory, I optimized the original new staff training system of Haikou XYT Hotel by improving new staff training materials and methods, strengthening the management of new staff trainers, establishing efficient training evaluation system, so that the new staff training can effect on retaining talent, education and reducing new staff turnover.I hope that the optimal design of the program will be able to supplement and accelerate the human resources management system of Haikou XYT Hotel. In addition, I hope that it will be able to improve hotel training management level, improve the competitiveness of the hotel’s talent, so that the hotel can achieve talent advantage in the market. Meanwhile, I hope that this program will be a useful reference to similar hotels about new staff training.
