| Due to the characteristics and complicated environment of petroleum industry, changes and claims always happen. Many contractors are in searching chance in the petroleum contract market currently, and claims become an effective means used to compensate the project profit and improve the company competitiveness. Comparing to some senior international contractors, Chinese contractors are still in a searching phase in change and claim work, lacking a systematic research and wok procedure, relevant works are still the weakness in the whole management for project. The purpose of this thesis is to research how to improve the ability of management and control for change and claim work to keep contractor’s profit.This thesis is based on petroleum project, the characteristics of industry is distinct. Most of the similar researches before were usually based on civil project. The achievements of this thesis are as below:1. Selecting changes and claims cases in the passing performed projects, through the methods of questionnaire survey and project research to analysis and classify the problems in different project stage as a petroleum EPC contractor.2. Analyzing the characters and risks in international EPC petroleum project to find out the elements for an applicative management procedure for project changes and claims. Comparing the past management procedure, the analysis now extend scope from earlier stage of project to the later stage of the project.3. Completed the suited management procedure for changes and claims in international petroleum EPC project.4. Applying the earlier stage management procedure, process management procedure and later management stage to actual project for result analysis.More and more Chinese Petroleum Companies join into the EPC contract project and will face much more challenge. All the research and achievements in this thesis are hoped to be used and referred by Petroleum Company or relevant company to improve profit and market competitiveness. |
