With the development of the times, the Chinese economy has entered a newdigital era of rapid developments. During the fighting of the price, the cost, themarketing programs and the capital management, all walks of life also fight againstthe control force to the pulse of the Chinese economy and that of world’s economy,the foresight, the early warning and emergency plan etc. The enterprises are facingthe problems of over spending of personnel and cost, the effects of the new policies,especially for the large state-owned enterprises.The industry competition for grain alcohol (Zhaodong) sales company(hereinafter referred to as COFCO sales), is not just the comparison in the aspects ofthe factory scale, the treatment of employees, the reduced cost, the improvement ofthe productivity, the tank utilization rate and the reduction rate of the loss tons, whichare the improvements by the external condition and reflected intuitively. Moreover,the internal power, the innovation ability, the reduction of the labor cost, the correctjudge and the rapid response to the market, will become a necessary factor for success.But for the original COFCO sales company ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)system, there are many problems, such as the lack of linkage between eachdepartment, the lack of communication and the lack of in-depth functional analysisand decision-making performance. However, fast presentation and summary of theanalysis data will be a most reliable and timely information source of the marketforecast and judge for the leaders. Meanwhile, the new systems are expected to letmembers work more simple and straightforward. Everyone can be freed from the pileof large amounts of data.In this thesis, the independent developed management decision support systemof the COFCO Company is taken as an example to illustrate the trade advantages inthe enterprise applications brought by the system. In fact, the development of themanagement decision support system is a kind of innovation, which is applied to the specific business in the enterprise. During the developing process of the new system,the transfer process, the retail process, the contact approval process between differentcompanies are also studied and discussed in details. The unclear and unreasonablenodes are reorganized and simplified. The existing problems are recorded anddiscussed and the modified schemes are proposed. After the modification, the targetprogram suitable to the enterprise status is made according to the specific needs andthe application objective of the enterprise.Since some expected effects are very necessary for every innovation and attempt,as a matter of course, there is also a desired goal to be achieved for managementdecision support system of the COFCO Corp. The function of this system is asfollows: one comprehensive integrated system, which can be used from salesmanagement to financial management, should be established to build a constant andcirculatory, high degree of unity for logistics, capital and information flow ofenterprises. The purpose of such kind of system is to supply accurate, convenient,multi-level and full range of decision information for the various departments ofCOFCO sales, to coordinate the daily work of the various functional departments, todo the records of business information accurately and timely among differentfunctional departments, and to transfer to other departments for share and summary.In the aspect of financial management, the system should meet the requirementsof the daily financial management and accounting, accord with the financialregulations of the nation, strengthen financial management, fulfill the financialcontrol and analysis, extract partial basic data from the management decision supportsystem automatically, and even see some related summarized information.In the aspect of sales management, the system can achieve all-roundmanagement for the marketing activities of enterprises, help enterprises to formulatethe implementation of marketing strategy, and improve the management decisionsupport system for COFCO sales company, in order to maximizing the demands,which is required by the different levels of organizations. Meanwhile, an impeccablemanagement decision support system has a crucial role for decision-making strategyby decision-makers and managers. It also can provide a strong competitive advantagefor COFCO sales company in the same industry competition.
