The Study On Cluster Upgrading In Liaoning Equipment Manufacturing Based On Global Value Chain Governance

The equipment manufacturing industry is the basic industry of the national economy. As the equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning Province is a good model of our national equipment manufacturing industry and the key industry of northeast old industrial base, its upgrading plays a decisive role. With the constant development of the equipment manufacturing industry cluster in Liaoning province, the equipment manufacturing industry of Liaoning province has been from domestic to international, embedded in the global value chain (Global Value Chain, GVC). However, the equipment manufacturing industry of Liaoning province devotes to the lower end of the processing link to obtain small profit in the global value chain, which makes it necessary to break through the path dependence and speed up the construction of the equipment manufacturing cluster.The thesis takes the equipment manufacturing industry cluster in Liaoning Province as the research object, focusing on the analysis of the path way of equipment manufacturing industry cluster upgrading based on the theory such as GVC. Firstly, it introduces the current development of manufacturing clusters in Liaoning province and the upgrading pressure under the governance of the GVC; secondly, The three theory of global value chain, industry cluster and enterprise capability, respectively emphasizes the importance of the global knowledge and technology transfer, the driving force of cooperation and interactive among the local enterprises, and the importance of the accumulation about resource and capability of single enterprise, this paper discusses the paths and ways in equipment manufacturing clusters based on the these factors, then put forward the research hypothesis, which can be summarized into the influence factors about the Liaoning equipment manufacturing industry cluster upgrading; Finally, the questionnaire is conducted through the network, mail, investigation and so on, then by the integrated use of exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model to empirical analysis, which can validate the model fitting degree.In this paper, through theoretical and empirical research, the main conclusions as follows:firstly, the support of GVC managers has significant positive influence on cluster upgrading. The support of GVC managers, including information, capital, research and development, can make the equipment manufacturing industry cluster in Liaoning province "learn from exports" and get the required resources and capabilities to upgrade. Secondly, the advantages of industrial clusters have positive effect on cluster upgrading, mainly reflecting from the knowledge innovation effect in the clusters, local support for joint action, system and policy of unilateral escalation support. Thirdly, the enterprise ability to support the cluster upgrading has a significant positive relationship. The capacity of enterprise resource, independent innovation and enterprise dynamic all has a common effect on the upgrading of enterprises.
