Technological innovation is important to enhance the comprehensive national strength and upgrade the industry technology. Enterprise is the mean body of the new wave of innovation. Knowledge shows a powerful role in promoting technological innovation. Therefore, a profound understanding of the characteristics of knowledge is an important way to improve knowledge utilization efficiency, and promote the innovation performance.In recent years, there are more and more researches about knowledge management and organizational innovation; however, most studies focus on the impact of the use of existing knowledge, such as the knowledge development and knowledge absorption on the organizational innovation. However, little researches concerned about the relationship between the knowledge context and organizational innovation, and there is almost no research explores the match of knowledge context and innovation strategy based on the mutual influence of them. From the perspective of knowledge context, this paper analyzes how knowledge management influence organizational innovation and the match of knowledge context and innovation strategy aimed to obtain the high innovation performance. Constructing the structural equation models and hierarchical regression models, the empirical studies show that knowledge embeddedness and knowledge distance have negative effects on innovative performance. Knowledge transfer partly mediates the relationship between knowledge characteristics and innovative performance. Organizational structure flexibility moderates the influence of knowledge characteristics on innovative performance. High-embeddedness with low-distance should adopt the exploitative innovation strategy, while low-embeddedness with high-distance should choose the exploratory innovation strategy. Based on the research, we provide recommendation for the enterprises that it should have a clear understand about the knowledge context and take appropriate measures to reduce the knowledge embeddedness and knowledge distance, properly raise the flexibility of the organizational structure to enhance the utilization of organizational knowledge and choose the suitable innovation strategy based on knowledge context.This paper reveals the impact of knowledge context on organizational innovation performance and the match of knowledge context and innovation strategy, enriching the existing research knowledge management and organizational innovation and providing the theoretical reference for the enterprise to identify organizational knowledge context, choose the suitable innovation strategy and improve innovation performance.
