Along with the continuous development of society and technology, the role of knowledge-intensive industries in the production and life is becoming more and more important. For the knowledge-intensive industries, talent management as the core competitiveness becomes an important issue to be resolved. The software industry as a typical representative of the knowledge-intensive industries, how to manage and motivate knowledgeable employees to achieve organizational performance is becoming a top issue to be resolved.The paper focused on the application of Performance Management, which based on Human Capital Maturity Model (PCMM) model. In this paper, the author explains how to implement performance management practices of PCMM in the software industry. In order to clarify the details of application, a representative software company which owns the experiences of implementing PCMM practices is be select as study object.This paper introduces the overview of PCMM model and its five maturity levels, then the common performance management theories and performance management in PCMM model has been introduced. For the critical parts of the paper, the author introduces A software enterprise performance management model based on the PCMM model, including organizational performance management, employee performance management, and process performance management. Finally, the author makes a conclusion of the performance management in A company and software industry.
