With the development of supply chain management, people began to seek for the maximum levels of customer satisfaction at minimum supply chain total cost. The connotation of inventory control and management has also changed tremendously under such background. The model of taking focus only on each isolated business unit will not get the company competitive anymore, this requires business unit taking more focus on inventory at the stand point of the entire supply chain. The paper is written on the basis of supply chain management and inventory control theories. Firstly, it analyses the modern inventory management model under supply chain environment, which is VMI, JMI, CPFR. And also a comparison has been done among these models from several aspects.Next, by integrating theory with practice, this paper introduced the current status and real existing inventory management problems in FS Company, and then, after analysis from several aspects by applying the relevant theories, the paper pointed out that JMI is a more effective method for FS Company to improve inventory control. This requires that:on one hand it is required that the leadership in FS company change their concept of inventory management under supply chain environment, and on the other hand, for the problems cause by internal weak management such as ABC classification, safety stock setting, weak sales forecast etc. Actions and controls also need to be taken internally at the same time as to improve the overall inventory control. Only in this way, changes from both external and internal, can the company achieve the inventory and service level of overall best, which leads to the improvement of the company’s core competitiveness.
