The paper makes a research on effects of safety regulation of dairy products in China in order to know about factors influencing effects of safety regulation of Chinese dairy products and put forward relevant suggestions. First, the paper introduces the necessity, the operating mechanism and the target of dairy products regulation in China. Then it analyzes major factors influencing effects of safety regulation of dairy products from both theoretical and empirical aspects. In the empirical part, this paper makes use of quantitative analysis and builds multiple linear regression models. The results show that market concentration and supervision bring about the most obvious effect. The flawlessness of laws and quality technical standard requirement also have effects, but there is a gap compared with market concentration and supervision. Effects of safety regulation of dairy products in China are having good development. Finally, the paper puts forward some suggestions from the following aspects. The government should increase market concentration, strengthen supervision, complete laws, improve quality technical standards and functions of regulation agencies.
