With outstanding people and smart land, gathering of talents, there has been so many famous people in literature and history in Shangqiu that the cultural climax has continuously appeared, and the historic background of places of interest is rich.Shangqiu is one of the cultural relics in Henan Province, with 2 units of state-level cultural relics protection, 39 units of provincial cultural relics protection, city, more than 200 units of city-county-level cultural relics protection, 20 units of the Revolutionary War Memorial, more than 50 thousand pieces of cultural relics collection. Moreover, Shangqiu is a piece of red land, rich in red tourism resources.Shangqiu City, located in the junction of Huaihai Economic Zone and the Eurasian Economic Belt, has entered the rapid development period of strategic opportunity in recent years. But the tourism economic development is relatively slow,particularly compared with the city of Kaifeng, Luoyang in Henan Province.According to the questionnaire survey on the Shangqiu leisure tourism market,the tourist’s demand becomes more diverse, tourists not only regard tourist attractions popularity as a measure of the object, but pay more attention to tour routes organization, the combination of surrounding attractions, tourism destination, tourism services, tourism infrastructure, scenic features, tourist destination climate, and consumption level. The leisure tourism lovers in Shangqiu city include the young,educated people, a family of three and so on, the level of consumption is low, but the market has diversified development trend. Leisure vacation tourists from the city of Shangqiu are the main source, other parts of the province’s tourists have enormous potential for development. Tourist information source is mainly from the Internet,relatives, friends and travel agency. Travel time is mainly concentrated on weekends and holidays. Accommodation in hostels and farmhouses is accepted by most tourists,and most destinations are the local cultural landscape, natural landscape and leisure base, the main consumer items lie in shopping, leisure and entertainment, and the main ways give priority to traveling agency group and the family trip.Based on the Shangqiu city tourism supply, tourist survey and analysis, theauthor uses the gray prediction model to predict Shangqiu domestic tourist trips and travel income in the future five years. According to the forecast results, the city of Shangqiu in the years 2014-2018 tourism revenue will reach 64.1973, 81.3298,109.8234, 151.0456, 21365410000 yuan respectively. The number of tourists will reach 3552.06, 4391.34, 5412.321, 6683.347, 82418710 people respectively. This data more accurately reflects the trend of tourism development in Shangqiu City, and demonstrates that Shangqiu tourism market has a strong potential in terms of the tourism resources. However, there is a long way for Shangqiu city to go in terms of making a full use of its advantages in resources, predicting the target, having a further exploration of the resources, connotation, creating a special tourism products,designing unique tourism lines, strengthening regional cooperation and enhancing the competitive force and infrastructure construction.
