Now we are living in an era that fashion is mostly sought after. And fashion industry is the most representative. Fashion industry can covey and express its understanding of the latest fad by its clothing designs, clothing signs or visual identity system. A successful clothing design or visual identity system can not only communicate the brand’s inner spirit and pursuit, but also can put it in a favorable place in the fiercely competitive marketplace. Moreover, a successful clothing design or visual identity system can help shape the brand culture, establish the brand imagine, and leave a deep impression on people.If we take a panoramic view of Chinese fashion industry, we could find that although China has the largest share of the world trade in textiles and clothing, the well-known brand in the world classic is few and far between. After china joining the WTO, massive foreign brands have flooded into the market and grabbed some market share. We deeply recognize that establishing our well-known brand is the priority for China.In view of the above, the paper will unfold with the focus on clothing brand and clothing sign. In the first chapter, the author will give an overview of the status quo of fashion industry development at home and abroad. Later, the author will elaborate on the concept of clothing brand, clothing sign and visual identity system.In chapter two, at the beginning, some theories of clothing brand will be introduced. Later, the author will give an in-depth analysis of the positioning and spreading of clothing brand. On this basis, the author will analyze and evaluate the features of the clothing sign. The author is in the hope that this research could provide some theory support in creating new clothing sign and establishing clothing brand.Fashion brand visual identity system covers a wide range of issues, such as clothing label, hand bag, plane advertisement design and so on. The craft, material and design are worth further exploring and discussing.Chapter 3 will make a detailed elaboration from the aspects of word, graph, color and so on. Apart from that, the author will try to explore and discover the consumers’psychology and buying inclination by doing the research of clothing brand visual identity system. The author hope this research could help establish a clothing brand that could resonate with the author and promote the consuming.In chapter 4, through cases study, the author analyzes and elaborates the differences between domestic famous brands and foreign luxury brands from clothing brand development, clothing sign, the brand positioning and fashion brand visual identity aspect. Besides, the author will do a deep analysis of the application of the brand design in brand visual identity. The findings could be of great practical significance and pave the way for further study concerning clothing design.In view of the discussion and analysis above, it could be found that although Chinese clothing brand has its share in the fashion industry market, there is a long way to go comparing with the foreign well-known clothing brand. Chapter 5 will focus on the current problem of Chinese clothing brand development in brand image establishment, brand sign, brand culture and brand positioning. And on this basis, the author will make some suggestions on Chinese clothing brand development. The study could promote the development of Chinese clothing sign and help build the clothing brand visual identity system. The findings could be of great theoretical and practical significance.
