Early Warning For OLED Industry In China Based On Patent Analysis

Based on the patent applications published by State Intellectual Property Office(SIPO) and United States Patent and Trademark Office(USPTO), the OLED patent portfolio of the patent applicants in China and USA has been studied. Firstly, the patent types, the overall trend, the applicant constitution, Intellectual Property Classification(IPC) constitution and main applicants have been analyzed. The OLED patent portfolios of the foreign and domestic applicants in China have been analyzed, and the similarities and differences between them have been given. The patent applications in SIPO and USPTO of three mainland companies, which manufacture the OLED products, have been focused. Their innovation modes have been studied and the claims of their key patent applications have been analyzed. Based on the patent analysis, some suggestions for the development of OLED technology in China have been provided.
